Mary is a highly industrious woman, who has had major setbacks in her life. Early in her life, she got married and had two wonderful children. While married she took several jobs, even travelling to neighbouring countries to make some money. This worked very well, and she even helped her husband buy some land. However problems cropped up in their marriage and she was forced to walk out of the marriage with just the clothes on her back and her two small children. She then had the sole responsibility of providing for her children.
That is when she ventured into handcrafts. Mary had to work very hard to pay school fees for her children. Being a single mother is not easy here in Kenya.
Bawa La Tumaini (BLT) has been working closely with her since 2009 and she is happy with the business relationship and she hopes that more customers will support her products by placing orders. Her specialty is pin bracelets, necklaces, shell bangles, animal key-holders and necklaces.
Mary’s future plans are to continue to establish herself in her chosen field, to grow her client base, and to constantly improve her merchandise. She is very results oriented and is willing to grow with BLT.
